​We want your experience at Envirokids to be both a happy and productive one for your child. Our goal at Envirokids is to develop an environment for children that promotes healthy physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. We are here to assist children to grow in an understanding of themselves and each other as well as the world around us. Our services are planned to support and enhance your family life. We encourage you to be fully involved in the activities here at the center. The staff and teachers look forward to getting to know you and working with you on the goals you have set for your child(ren).

 

Envirokids is based on the premise that the individual is also an environmental resource. When we learn to care for our minds and bodies, we in turn, expand that caring to our surroundings. By using the wonders of nature as a teaching tool, the youngsters learn that all natural environments must be respected and nurtured. Children who learn to respect themselves will likewise learn to respect others and the world around them. Envirokids presents numbers, letters, shapes and colors with a Montessori-based curriculum so that the child will better understand the relationship between themselves, their natural environment as a resource, and the learning tools the environment provides. Envirokids' programs are desgined to meet the developmental needs of the children ages 6 weeks through 12 years. No child will be discriminated against because of race, color, sex, national origin, age, religion, political beliefs, or disability. Children are placed in groups according to their age and abilities. Children learn best through their natural medium of play. The programs at Envirokids include a balance of quiet and vigorous acitivities as well as individual group experiences. Activities are provided through a variety of learning centers that offer opportunities to learn about themselves and others through dramatic play; how things grow and work in the science and math areas; language through stories, poems, puppets and music; creativity through art materials and block building as well as sensory materials such as sand and water. The outside yard is designed to encourage the development of large motor skills. Parents are requested to seek a conference with the director and/or teacher whenever questions or problems arise.
